How to keep your children active in the summer holiday!
North Lincolnshire Council have released a brilliant guide to keep your children active and entertained over the summer break.
Following the exciting announcement of free swimming sessions for youngsters across North Lincolnshire, the council’s NL Active plan features a “jam-packed” schedule with something for everyone!
The free to access swimming sessions aimed for children will be available across all 4 North Lincolnshire run pools – Ancholme Leisure Centre, Axholme North Leisure Centre, Baysgarth Community Hub, Riddings Community Hub and The Pods.
For the avid Wimbledon fans looking to keep active over the 6-week break, racket sports will be half price for juniors. This offer can be accessed at outdoor courts at Axholme North Leisure Centre and Epworth Leisure Centre.
Badminton enthusiasts will be able to enjoy weekly coached sessions at Ancholme Leisure Centre on Mondays for beginners and club players.
All equipment will be provided for the racket sporting activities.
Children aged 16 and under will be able to go for a kickabout on the Isle of Axholme with an incredible discount on its 3G pitches. Pitch hires are available from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm at Axholme North Leisure Centre and Epworth Leisure Centre.
In the exciting announcement, the council confirmed some new additions to their NL Active plan:
“NL Active has added additional junior gym sessions to the timetables over the summer holidays.
“New for this summer is also the junior rig workout sessions at Ancholme Leisure Centre and The Pods.
“These functional workouts will show you how to use the rig and other gym-based equipment to keep active and will get 11 to 16 year-olds used to working out in a gym environment.”
Our beautiful local parks will also provide activities to keep your little ones active, such as a brilliant self-led 10-station circuit course and outdoor gyms with an array of beginner through professional exercises!
