Man ‘mortified’ following horrific robbery
An innocent fishing trip turned sour after “absolute scum” broke into a man’s car.
Whilst enjoying a peaceful day fishing on the river Ancholme in Winterton, near Scunthorpe, thieves took the opportunity to break into a gentleman’s vehicle, making off with personal possessions.
What should have been an idyllic gateway has now become a “stressful” situation for the victim to comprehend.
The white Range Rover had endured severe damage to its side and rear windows after a large wooden beam was used to gain entry inside.
Speaking in pure disbelief after the incident, the victim said he was “mortified,” adding:
“All they stole was my work bag containing my locker keys and site passes and other worthless items to them but needed by me.
“It happened Saturday afternoon in broad daylight and there was dog walkers about so any information to nail these lowlifes would be appreciated, the wood is the public bridleway sign that has been laid down in the grass for weeks, I’m just glad I had my fishing tackle on me.”
Following the social media post, locals were quick to issue frustrated responses to such a deplorable act, with one saying:
“Sorry mate, feel gutted for you totally mindless, I too would be gutted. Let’s hope they get caught.”
“You work for years to get something nice and someone gets jealous an shatters your joy. Sad souls,” replied another.
