‘Rolling block’ fuel protest causing severe disruption and congestion

The M180 and the A180 have long delays and severe disruption this morning as a fuel protest and an earlier collision caused congestion and severe disruption for local traffic and travelling motorists.

A serious traffic collision near Killingholme was reported at around 6 am with traffic being redirected onto the A160 to avoid the scene, reportedly causing delays.

The incident is currently only affecting westbound traffic.

Humberside Police have released a statement regarding the incident:

“Emergency services are currently in attendance to a road traffic collision on the A180 Killingholme Westbound.

“Traffic will be diverted to the A160.

“Please avoid the area and use alternative routes and we will update once the area is re-opened.”

The rolling block fuel protest has been moving toward the collision location from 6 am. The protest began in Scunthorpe before heading to Immingham and will return to Scunthorpe via the M18 junction.

The most significant traffic is currently around the scene of the road traffic collision and near the M18 junction of the M180. There are delays on the road near to the protest.

There are delays near Killingholme with traffic slow moving through the diversion at Ulceby.
