Three new pups will fight crime alongside Humberside Police

Humberside Police proudly announced three new furry recruits will join them on their mission to tackle local crime.

Yesterday (13 June), the force released an incredible picture gallery coinciding with a short, informative update.

The imagery used throughout the statement included the three new pups posing for their picture to be taken!

King, Roxy, and Rusty have been enrolled in the force’s dog section, trained to fight and nullify crime across the region.

Each pup successfully completed a 13-week training course prior to being welcomed into the force!

In the statement, police officers highlighted how effective their new four-legged colleagues will be during future operations, PC Phil Lusby stating:

“The 13-week programme whilst challenging is a great way for us and the dogs to learn each other’s quirks and personalities. It also equips us with all of the relevant skills to ensure when any of the dogs are deployed to an incident, they know what their job is”

“Whilst they all have their own personalities the three new furry additions to the teams are all ‘general purpose’ dogs”, said PC Andrew Reid.

“They will assist with searching and tracking down suspects and missing people, locating objects involved in criminal incidents, detaining suspects, disarming suspects carrying weapons and public order situations such as crowd control. We will also often support community officers”, he added.

PC Alistair Young said all three pups are Belgian Malinois. Rusty joins the force from the Wirral, Liverpool whilst both Roxy and King have travelled from Holland!

“They all have fantastic personalities and the more we work with them, the stronger our bond gets inside and outside of work”, PC Young added.

What great new additions to the team!
