Poundland and Shoezone get Freshney Place opening dates

Poundland and Shoezone have now released their official opening dates for their new locations in Freshney Place shopping centre.

Poundland opens this Saturday, June 11 following weeks of preparation by staff moving stock.

The discount store will be taking over the former New Look store on Victoria Street, with the doors finally opening on Saturday at 9am.

More than 12,000 square feet, the supersize store has been designed to offer the widest product range possible and to give customers a great shopping experience.

It will employ 23 full and part-time colleagues, the same as the store it replaces at 1-7 Victoria Street.

This move will also make way for the planned multi-million development of the western entrance to Freshney Place.

The £17 million redevelopment submitted by North East Lincolnshire council will include a new food hall and multi-screen cinema.

Leading clothing retailer PEP&CO, which has quickly become one of the top 20 clothing retailers in the UK, replaces fashion brand New Look.

ShoeZone will open on Friday, June 17 in the former JD Sports outlet in Freshney Place.

The popular brand will take on the  4,000sqft, double-faced unit after JD Sports moved into a larger location in Freshney Place.

Now ShoeZone will move into the empty sports shop, located between Greggs and O2.

The new store will stock popular brands such as Lotus, Heavenly Feet, Jana Softline and S’Oliver.

Opening Monday to Saturday 9am – 5:30pm and Sunday 10am – 4.30pm, the Grimsby store will offer the community affordable footwear catering for all ages at the new concept store.
