Grimsby MP Lia Nici pledges to vote ‘in full support’ of PM
This morning it was announced that Prime Minister Boris Johnson will face a vote of no confidence from his MPs later today.
Triggered by 54 letters of no confidence being submitted by MPs, the vote determines how many Tory MPs still back the PM.
If he receives 180 votes of no confidence, then he will no longer be Prime Minister.
If he wins the vote, then he is protected against another such move for a year.
Great Grimsby MP Lia Nici has now also renewed her support for the Prime Minister ahead of today’s vote.
Sharing her stance on Twitter, the MP said: “I will be voting (by proxy) today in full support of the Prime Minister. He delivered Brexit. He secured Covid vaccines freeing us from lockdowns earlier.
PM getting on with the job of tackling illegal immigration and Levelling Up.”

The Grimsby MP, who is also one of Mr Johnson’s private secretaries, has consistently shown her support for the prime minister.
Following the publication of the Sue Gray report before the half term, she told BBC Radio Humberside Mr Johnson “isn’t someone who goes out and drinks, he is a world leader with very good standards in regards to professional behaviour in the workplace.”
Ms Nici went on to state that she believes the PM should not have been given a fixed penalty notice for the event he attended as he believed he was at work.
“As far as he was concerned, when he went to these work events they were work events. He went to tell staff thank you for working so hard,” she said.
