Inquest concludes after popular Scunthorpe-born sports therapist dies
An inquest has concluded following the tragic death of a Scunthorpe-born sports therapist.
Andrew Naylor, 31, sadly passed away following a multi-vehicle collision.
The Scunthorpe-born man was traveling along the A51 between Saxby and Caeny Corner, outside Fox Plant Ltd last year when his blue X type Jaguar was involved in a crash with two vehicles.
Yesterday (18 May), an inquest was held by coroner Marianne Johnson at the Myle Cross Centre, Lincoln.
The inquest heard how the 31-year-old was travelling north along the A15 before he was pulled out from behind a lorry to overtake.
Sadly, Andrew struck a vehicle that was travelling in the opposite carriageway and died as a result of the injuries that he sustained.
The Lincolnite reported the medical cause of death, stated by the record of the inquest, was multiple fatal injuries as a result of a road traffic collision.
Andrew was described as “the hardest worker in the room” as he enjoyed a successful career as a sports therapist.
In Lincoln, he worked as a fitness trainer and ran a sport and occupational rehab centre.
Andrew also volunteered at Lincoln City Football Club, again working as a therapist.
Now, a fundraising page has been set up by his former colleague, which has raised almost £3,000.
Speaking to the Lincolnite, Esme, Andrew’s former colleague, said:
“Andy was someone who not only helped people physically but mentally and emotionally, he was a great friend as well as a therapist and a shoulder to cry on”
“It cannot be put in to words how devastated we all are, he was the hardest worker in the room, and will be greatly missed”
