By Update after collision on M180 forces closures
The M180 is closed westbound from Junction 5 after a vehicle hit a bridge on the motorway near Scunthorpe.
On Twitter, Humberside Police announced the closure shortly before 3.30 pm on Wednesday (May 18).
Earlier traffic reports from the area confirmed a partial closure between Junction 2 and Junction 3.
National Highways reported a vehicle had struck a bridge in between the M181 (Scunthorpe) and the A161 (Gainsborough / Belton) junctions.
An earlier one-lane closure has escalated to a full closure of the westbound carriageway.
National Highways expects the incident to clear between 5 pm and 5.15 pm today.
Normal traffic conditions are expected to return shortly afterward.

“Traffic update – Due to road-related incident there is a full road closure at Junction 3 to 2, Westbound on the m180”
