Proposed dog walking facility on Bradley Road
A plan has been submitted to create a meeting place for dogs on a nature spot outside Bradley.
The proposal submitted by Joe Fenwick to North East Lincolnshire Council is to allocate a 3.7-acre parcel of agricultural grassland, at Netherwood Dairy, off Bradley Road “for the purpose of dog-walking in a pleasant and secure environment”.
“Change of use from agricultural land to dog walking facility to include perimeter fence and entrance gate, associated car parking, and access.” It stated.
Hours of operation would be 9 am to 6 pm, with 30-minute slots per customer and a maximum of 10 dogs – on a lead – at any one time.
It is said the walkers would be asked to keep verbal commands to a minimum and to “discourage dogs from barking”.
Parking for up to four vehicles will be available on the site.
There has been no action raised by the parish council.
It is not known how much dog-walkers might be charged per session.
Mr. Fenwick’s application is currently under consideration by planners.
“Little consideration has been given to the proximity to residential homes. This is a serene environment, as such the sound of dogs barking and the raised voices of exuberant owners, will travel widely and cause a major disturbance to residents.” One wrote in objection to the plans.
“We like to get up at 9 am and enjoy our breakfast outside during the summer, This would prove impossible with the level of noise and smell created by the dog walking park.” Another added.
