One in 14 people in Grimsby not registered to vote
According to reports, one in 14 people in Grimsby aren’t registered on the electoral roll to vote in the local elections.
The local elections are fast approaching for the area, voters need to register by 11.59 pm on Thursday (April 14th) to vote on May 5.
According to figures from the Office for National Statistics, 116,166 people were registered to vote in December last year.
This figure reportedly represents around 93% of the adult population, which is 124,904.
You can register to vote if you’re 18 and over and a British, Irish, or EU citizen, or a Commonwealth citizen.
The Conservatives currently hold 32 out of 45 council seats, ten of which are up for election this cycle.
Anyone over the age of 18 can register to vote via the government website.
