Heart-warming tributes honour woman involved in Doncaster collision

Tributes have poured in for a 33-year-old woman who sadly passed away following a tragic Doncaster collision last weekend.

Sarah Sands was pronounced dead on Saturday 13 November soon after a van collided with her on Barnsley Road in Scawsby, Doncaster.

Tributes, flowers, fairy lights, photographs and cards have since been placed at the scene of the collision in her memory.

As a mother of two, a sister, a daughter, a niece, an auntie and a dear friend, it is apparent that Sarah will be dearly missed.

A fundraising campaign has been launched to help Sarah’s remaining family pay for her funeral following the Doncaster collision.

On the fundraising page, the organiser – Katy Sands (Sarah’s sister) – wrote that it is “the most awful accident I can’t even get my head around” and that she feels “very numb at this sad time”.

She is asking for help from anyone that knew Sarah and her family in order to support her parents during this tough time.

Unfortunately, the news comes just six years after the death of their eldest brother.

Additionally, it is the second collision to occur on a major Doncaster road in just four days.

On Wednesday 10 November, David Kerry, 42, was also fatally hit by a car on Balby Road.

South Yorkshire Police are now appealing for witnesses with regard to Sarah’s collision which occurred at approximately 3:20am near Ridgewood School.
