By Local residents taking on the Road to Barcelona!
Teams of up to ten friends are taking on a virtual challenge covering 1,000 mile distance from Scunthorpe to Barcelona raising funds for one local charity.
The team will be ticking off three checkpoints on their way including Brighton, Le Mans and Bordeaux!
Each participant received an official TEAM 1000 ‘Road to Barcelona’ t-shirt on sign up and will all receive a genuine sombrero on completion of the challenge.
After restrictions were eased Lindsey Lodge Hospice wanted to find a way of getting friends together to talk and have fun, while exercising and raising money for the charity after what has been a really difficult 18 months for everyone.
There are ten teams taking part in this years challenge for the Road to Barcelona!
The challenge started on 1 June and will end of 27 June, so unfortunately it’s too late for people to sign up now.
However, Lindsey Lodge have said they will be holding the challenge again next year with a different destination, so anyone who would like to pre-register can do so by emailing their interest to selinadoyle@nhs.net
