The 115th Messingham Show cancelled due to Covid
Messingham Horse & Foal Show Committee (MHFSC) has decided to cancel the 115th Messingham Show scheduled on Sunday the 6 June 2021 due to the uncertainty relating to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and concerns for the health and well-being of show attendees, volunteers, traders, competitors and performers.
‘MHFSC has not cancelled Messingham Show other than for the two World Wars, the Foot and Mouth outbreak in 2001 and the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. We did not make this decision lightly and we cannot fully express our disappointment.’

Safety of everyone involved is main priority
‘This was a tough call to make but we need to prioritise the health and safety of show attendees, volunteers, traders, competitors and performers. We are unable to postpone Messingham Show until later in the year as we are part of the National Show Jumping Calendar. Furthermore, we do not wish to impact on other shows in Northern Lincolnshire who will, hopefully, be able to continue later in the year.
The main reasons for cancelling the show for the second year is for the safety of the Show Committee, show volunteers, show officials, the safety of the public, trade stands and exhibitors.’
The next Messingham Show is scheduled for 5 June 2022.
