Parents shaken after alleged ‘abduction’ attempts

An alleged abduction attempt has left locals and parents shaken, with similar instances being reported in the area.

According to reports, the woman was walking down Wellington Street at around 2.40pm on Wednesday, 16 November, collecting her children from school.

A van, described as a White Ford, allegedly began following them, with another woman claiming her son was almost abducted by the driver, citing attempts to ‘grab her son’ on his way home from school on Wednesday, November 16, along Runswick Road.

It is currently unknown whether the incidents are related, however, schools and parents have been urged to remain vigilant.
