Bus shelter ASB a ‘borough-wide’ problem
A bus shelter that has seen relentless vandalism has again been targeted by anti-social behaviour.
The shelter, on Yarbrough Road, Grimsby, was targeted the previous year on 2 separate occasions, over the Christmas period.
When this occurred, the damage was repaired within ‘10 days from each other, but now, it has been targeted again.
‘The bus shelter pictured has been again targeted by anti-social behaviour. This particular shelter was targeted last year on 2 separate occasions over the Christmas period which got fixed within 10 days from each other.’ said Martyn Sandford, Councillor for Yarbrough Ward.
‘Again it has been targeted for the first time this year, which is getting fixed in due course.’ he added.
Another bus shelter was allegedly vandalised in Grimsby Town Centre last night, and with decreased bus services, and increasing bad weather, residents have been left frustrated with the anti-social behaviour.
Mr. Sandford, who highlighted these issues, continued:
‘I don’t know why someone would want to go around and cause damage like this it’s ridiculous, need to learn some respect because one day their hard-earned cash will be paying for damages like this when they are working.
‘Residents who live nearby and passengers have been angered by the fact it keeps getting targeted by ASB and I don’t blame them I’m getting frustrated myself.
‘ASB in bus shelters is a Borough-wide problem so if you see any shelters or bus stops that are damaged then please report them to the council via the website. If you witness someone causing damages to the bus shelter then please report it to the police via 101 and report it to the council as well.’
