Young artists to get professional debut
Young people across North East Lincolnshire are being invited to showcase their artwork to the public in a professional gallery setting early next year.
Thanks to funding from Arts Council England, Lincs Inspire challenges children aged 15 years and under to get creative for the Junior Open Art Exhibition at Cleethorpes Library.
The exhibition is free to enter and view, running in the Albert Room from January 16 to February 25, with the final date for submissions being December 10.
As well as individual entries, schools are also invited to submit work as part of a group and prizes will be awarded to the winners of the public and judges’ vote.
There is also the opporunity for schools to submit a group or class piece and of course, pupils can submit an individual piece if they like too.
Caroline Moorby, Arts Development Officer for Lincs Inspire, said: “We’re delighted to host our first ever junior exhibition and hoping it inspires young creative talent in the area. We have some fantastic artsy prizes up for grabs, so pick up your paints, pens and pastels and get creative!”
2D artwork can be submitted to Cleethorpes Library accompanied with a completed entry form on either Monday, December 5 between 10am and 3pm or Saturday, December 10 between 9am and 12.30pm.
