By Amazement as baby swan found in couples’ back garden
A couple in Grimsby were left shocked this weekend as they went out to find a juvenile swan in their back garden.
Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue were called after the family rushed to take their dog inside to protect the lost bird.
At this time of year swans can often be found in roads and gardens as the parents force the juvenile birds into the world and away from the ponds and lakes they grew up in.
The swan was thankfully unharmed and was relocated by the rescue team when they arrived.
Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue: “A surprise for a Grimsby family as they found a juvenile swan in their back garden!
“It’s not uncommon to find swans in roads and gardens this time of year as the parents force them to leave the lakes and streams they know and into the big bad world, of course, some end up in unintended danger.
“This family did the right thing, immediately getting their dog inside and calling for help!
“Thankfully for this swan it was unscathed from the landing and only needed relocation.
