Selena Gomez names transplanted kidney after Fred Armisen
Selena Gomez has shared the details behind why she named her transplanted kidney after Fred Armisen.
Speaking to The Rolling Stone magazine she said: “I named it after Fred Armisen because I love Portlandia. I’ve never met him, but I’m secretly hoping he finds that out just because I want him to be like, ‘That’s weird.’”
Discussing her health journey she said: “I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health,”
She added: “I completely fell out of my mind. It was like, ‘Hey you’re not a bad person, you’re not a gross person, you’re not any of this. But you’re going to have to deal with this.”
Selena Gomez also recently opened up to fans about her mental health journey in a tell-all documentary titled ‘Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me’.
