Update as man assaulted with weapons in own home
Officers attended an incident on Oxford Street in Grimsby following reports of a dramatic assault involving multiple people, of a man in his own residence.
According to Humberside Police, a man was assaulted after a number of other people entered a property and attacked him.
The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries to his head and face.
A scene guard and multiple police vehicles remained at the scene into Thursday.
Witnesses say there was a large police presence at the scene on Wednesday, 26 October, but no other emergency services were called.
Humberside Police said in their statement:
“Two men are currently in our custody following a reported assault at a property on Oxford Street, Grimsby at around 9:15pm on Wednesday 26 October.
“It is believed that a number of people entered a property whilst carrying weapons and assaulted a man.
“One man was taken to hospital for treatment on injuries to his head and face, which are not thought to be life changing.
“Both men have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and remain in police custody whilst our investigations continue.
