Henry Cavill dons iconic suit as Superman returns!
British hunk Henry Cavill has confirmed long-expected, albeit wishful rumors that the British actor will return to the role of Clark Kent.
Cavill will return as Superman, in the DC Comics extended cinematic universe.
Cinemagoers were ecstatic to see the caped and iconic red and blue-suited hero appear in a mid-credits scene at the end of ‘Black Adam’, starring Dwayne Johnson, which has seen somewhat mixed reviews.
This appearance would be Cavill’s first sighting since the highly anticipated ‘Snyder cut’ of ‘Justice League’, with the prior appearance being that of the same.
Posting to Instagram, Cavill shared a shot of himself as Superman, addressing his followers in a direct video after.
He started by saying he wanted to wait until after people had a chance to watch “Black Adam” before speaking about his return.
“But now that plenty of you have [seen the movie],” Cavill said, “I wanted to make it official: I’m back as Superman.”
He thanked the fans “most of all” for their patience.
“A very small taste of what’s to come, my friends. The dawn of hope renewed,” Cavill wrote in the caption. “Thank you for your patience, it will be rewarded.”
Cavill’s brief scene at the end of “Black Adam” teases a future standoff between the caped hero and Johnson’s Adam.
Social media has been alive with requests for another standalone film for Cavill, a follow-up to the 2013 ‘Man of Steel’.
“Black Adam” was the number one spot at the domestic box office in its debut weekend, with an estimated $67 million.
