Crime-spree exposed in theif on thief drama
Two women have been arrested following several incidents which saw both involved in a crime spree in Grimsby yesterday, Monday 24 October.
Whilst out on patrol, officers from Humberside Police spotted a woman who was wanted in connection with a robbery that had taken place that same day.
It is reported that the wanted woman approached another with a bladed weapon and threatened her before leaving with a handbag containing bank cards, cash and a mobile phone.
However, it was then revealed that the stolen handbag also contained a number of items stolen from a supermarket during the day.
A 41-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of robbery and handling stolen goods, whilst a 38-year-old woman also arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop.
Humberside Police said: “Officers spotted a woman who was wanted in connection with a robbery earlier in the day. It was reported that a woman had approached another and threatened her with a bladed weapon. A handbag containing bank cards, cash and mobile phone was believed to have been taken.
“It was later revealed that the woman was in possession of a number of items that were believed to have been stolen from a supermarket during the day.
“A 41-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of robbery and handling stolen goods, whilst a 38-year-old woman also arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop.”
Both women remain in police custody.
