The Try Guys will edit Ned Fulmer out of future videos after cheating scandal

Popular YouTube group the Try Guys fired its member Ned Fulmer as he admitted to cheating on his wife, Ariel Fulmer with a colleague after photos of them kissing in a New York City bar were leaked on Reddit.

In a post on Instagram, Ned indicated he’d had a relationship with someone other than his wife as he wrote: “Family should have always been my priority, but I lost focus and had a consensual workplace relationship. I’m sorry for any pain that my actions may have caused to the guys and the fans but most of all to Ariel.”

Zach Kornfeld, Eugene Lee Yang and Keith Habersberger discussed the future of The Try Guys in a video posted on Monday.

“Ned Fulmer is no longer working with The Try Guys,” Kornfeld said in the clip, referring to the flood of publicity surrounding Fulmer’s workplace affair with a producer.

“There are several videos that we’ve deemed as fully unreleasable,” Kornfeld explained. “You will never see them, and that is due to his involvement. And that’s a decision that has cost us lots of money. We will not be able to recoup that money, but it’s a decision we stand by proudly.”

This “was obviously very shocking to us,” Habersberger said in the video. “We just want you to know that we had no idea this was going on. All of that information was just as shocking to us as all of this has been for you this week.”

“We were obviously very shocked and deeply hurt by all of this,” said Eugene. “This is someone who we’d built a brand and a company with for eight years. We feel saddened, not just personally, but on behalf of our staff and our fans who believed in us.” Yang went on to say that the three would not tolerate the behaviour; “This is something we took very seriously. We refused to sweep things under the rug. That is not who we are and is not what we stand for.”

The controversy led the team removing Ned from their videos, with Zach giving ‘props to our editing staff’ for how they handled the task: “We immediately removed Ned from work activities and engaged a HR professional to conduct a thorough review of the facts. We also opted to remove Ned from our releases pending the results of that review. Over a few weeks that’s included removing his section from videos, digitally removing him from others, and choosing not to feature him and our merch.”

The group said they signed documents on September 16th removing Fulmer as a manager and employee of their production company, 2nd Try.
