Man arrested after vehicle collides into Grimsby property

A collision on Stanley Street has left a family shaken after a car collided with their wall, reportedly narrowly missing their gas pipes on the side of the house.

The single-vehicle road traffic collision occurred on Stanley Street, Grimsby at around 8:35 am on Sunday 18 September.

A 20-year-old man was arrested later that day on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop after a collision, and driving without a license or insurance.

Humberside Police said: “A man was arrested after reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision on Stanley Street, Grimsby, at around 8:35am on Sunday 18 September. It was reported that a car had collided with a wall. Thankfully, no one was injured as a result.

“A 20-year-old man was arrested later that day on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop after a collision, and driving without a licence or insurance. He has since been released under investigation whilst our enquiries continue. If anyone has information regarding this incident, you can contact us on 101, quoting log 176 of 18 September.”
