Whitehouse signs for Scunthorpe!

Scunthorpe United have confirmed they have signed Elliott Whitehouse following a successful trial period. 

Whitehouse will pay his football at Glanford Park during the National League season after he penned a one-year contract, becoming Hill’s second signing of the summer. 

The 28-year-old began his playing career at Sheffield United, making five appearances and even captained the youth team and reached the 2010-11 FA Youth Cup final! 

Whilst with the blades, Whitehouse enjoyed loan spells with York City and Alfreton Town, before moving to Notts County. 

The midfielder made eight League One appearances with the Magpies before enjoying another loan spell, this time at Nuneaton Town. 

Whitehouse scored 20 goals in 45 games for Nuneaton, an impressive record that garnered the attention of Lincoln City. 

Signing for the Imps in 2016, the 28-year-old made 77 appearances and netted 10 goals during his two-year stay – which included EFL promotion, an incredible FA Cup quarter final run, and scoring the winning goal in the EFL Trohpy final. 

Before moving to Glanford Park, Whitehouse made 38 appearances for the Mariners and 23 appearances for Forest Green Rovers. 

The deadly midfielder joined the Iron on a trial basis but impressed during his stay and earned a contract extension. 

Chief Operating Officer Lee Turnbull said:  

“We welcome an experienced midfield player in Elliott Whitehouse to Scunthorpe United. Along with Andrew Boyce, they’re two players who will strengthen the first team squad with their knowledge and determination to succeed.”
