The future looks bright for Grimsby Town centre
The future looks extremely bright for Grimsby Town centre with several interesting plans set to upgrade visitor experiences.
Following months of discussions surrounding North East Lincolnshire Council’s potential acquisition of Freshney Place, and previous works around the town centre across past years, the future looks incredibly bright.
Now, the Council have opened a survey for Grimsby residents to have their say about how they currently feel about the town centre.
According to the Council, over 1,200 people participated in the last survey conducted in 2018. The information from previous responses allowed the council to execute an array of plans to enhance the town centre such as:
- Understand how people feel about the town centre at the time
- Work together with others to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour
- Improve community safety and resilience in the town centre
- Improve the street scene and physical environment
- Develop a vibrant offer which attracts and welcomes visitors
Working in collaboration with Humberside Police, North East Lincolnshire Council said:
“Since the last survey, we have experienced the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and we would like to ask the same questions again to see how your views and habits have changed and measure whether feelings towards Grimsby Town Centre are improving or not.
“You can have your say here: www.nelincs.gov.uk/have-your-say, and the survey closes on 7 Aug 2022.
“If you need to speak to someone to give your views or ask any questions, or you need a copy of the survey posting to you, you can ring the Engagement Team on (01472) 324380 or send an email to consultation@nelincs.gov.uk. We can supply the survey in large print.”
