Local Sea Cadets help pack bags for incredible charity initiative
Local Sea Cadets helped shoppers pack their bags for an amazing charity initiative!
Yesterday (3 July), Immingham Sea Cadets were on a mission to assist shoppers at a Teso store in Cleethorpes.
The cadets engaged in their annual food donation campaign to give back to our local communities.
The cadets were tasked with packing customers’ bags in return for a small donation which was then used to purchased food for their donation supply.
After the cadets had successfully aided fellow shoppers, using the money generated, the wonderful volunteers conducted a “supermarket sweep,” collecting necessities for the The Rock Foundation.
According to the Immingham Sea Cadets, their incredible bag packing technique earned a total of £200.93!
“With this money, we spent £177.02 and got 387 items to donate to the food bank! The remainder of the money raised will be used tomorrow so that The Rock Foundation can purchase items such as loaves of bread to be made up into food parcels,” they added.
“A big well done to all those who turned up today and thank you for helping us to support the local community!”
Well done to all involved!
