Cleethorpes Town to host the Mariners next month! 

Cleethorpes Town will host the Mariners next month in their annual pre-season friendly. 

After an incredible season for both teams, newly promoted Grimsby Town will face-off against the Owls at the Myenergi Stadium on Saturday 9 July – kick-off 3pm. 

Town gaffer, Paul Hurst will look to kick-start his teams’ pre-season campaign off with a bang, ahead of Town’s exciting return to Sky Bet League Two. 

Meanwhile, the Owls experienced a record-breaking season after reaching the play-off semi-finals, which saw a packed stadium witness their amazing achievement. 

Speaking to Gi Grimsby News in April, a proud Dave Smith congratulated his teams’ effort, suggesting their place at the semi-finals reflected “36 games of hard work”. 

Although both sides will meet under pre-season friendly conditions, the atmosphere is set to be electric! 

In a statement, GTFC said they are “pleased to announce that our traditional pre-season curtain-raiser at Cleethorpes Town will take place on Saturday 9 July” 

The club added: 

“An initial 750 tickets are now available via Cleethorpes Town by clicking here, with a further allocation to be made available at a later date. Details relating to these will be published in due course” 

“We look forward to seeing you at the Myenergi Stadium in 26 days time!”
