‘Drug-fuelled’ youths are using fields for anti-social activities
Youths in North Lincolnshire are using fields as meeting spots to take drugs and participate in anti-social activities.
Residents have raised concerns over the growing sightings of gangs of youths gathering in “scenic areas” to take drugs and start fires in Bottesford.
The rise in sightings from locals resulted in foot patrols from Humberside Police. During such patrols, the force discovered discarded drug paraphernalia.
In a statement, the force said:
“While patrolling one of the scenic areas of Bottesford, PCSO Tara & PCSO Grist came across an area that appears to being used by young people to gather and use cannabis edibles”
They added that fire damage had been discovered near surrounding woodland.
“This area will now be a hotspot area to be patrolled”, added Humberside Police.
Bottesford residents shared their frustration as one local argued the anti-social behaviour has been happening for “ages” with no response from the authorities.
“It has been happening on Bottesford football field for ages and no response…. backs onto silica and we wonder why so many fires”
Another local stated groups of youths alternate their meeting spots throughout the town, adding Gravel Pit Lane was a particular ‘hotspot’.
“Very worrying”, stressed another.
