Police reiterate safety after ‘nasty’ collision in Grimsby

A cyclist has sustained minor injuries after a car failed to notice them at a junction and turned into them, pulling out of the road.

The cyclist was travelling along Weelsby Road when the vehicle emerged in front of the cyclist, causing them to collide with the windscreen.

The screen was cracked from the impact of the collision and the cyclist sustained minor injuries.

The driver was reported regarding several offences from the incident and Humberside Police reiterated the importance of taking extra care when visibility is low, they said “Officers attended quite a nasty RTC earlier.

“The driver of this vehicle failed to see a cyclist travelling along Weelsby Road and turned into him. The rider of the bike suffered minor injuries, fortunately. The driver has also been reported for all the relevant offences. Please take extra care when the sun is at its lowest!”
