Wanted man arrested following heavy police presence in Grimsby

Humberside Police have reported a wanted man has been detained following a heavy police response on a Grimsby Street earlier today.

“Officers carried out enquiries at an address on Rutland Street this morning, Friday 20 May, during which he was detained.

“He remains in our custody at this time whilst enquiries continue.”

Two men are wanted in connection with a series of robberies that happened in the Albion Street area of Grimsby.

Gracian Karbowski, 19, and Andrei Chitu, 24, are both wanted in connection with the four robberies that took place on Monday 16 May.

Humberside Police are appealing for anyone who may know where they are or have information about their whereabouts to come forward.

In a statement, they said: “Can you help us find wanted men 19-year-old Gracian Karbowski (pictured left) and 24-year-old Andrei Chitu (pictured right) from Grimsby? Police are keen to speak to them following four reported robberies in the Albion Street area of Grimsby on Monday 16 May.

“If you have seen either man or have any information that may assist our enquiries please call 101 quoting log 10 of 16 May. Alternatively, if you prefer to report information anonymously you can do so via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
