Two men due in court over serious assault

Humberside Police have released a statement regarding an assault that took place in Grimsby.

The assault took place on Bethlehem Street, Grimsby, on Friday 13th May shortly before 11pm.

“Two men are due in court today following a reported assault on Bethlehem Street last week.

“Declan Graves (19) of Buller Street and Liam Ratten (20) of Clerk Street have both been charged with causing grievous bodily harm.

“Both men are due to appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court today, Monday 16 May.

“Shortly before 11pm on Friday, 13 May, a man was found unconscious in the road and taken to hospital with what are thought to be serious injuries.

“Officers investigating the incident are appealing to anyone with information to please call our non-emergency 101 line quoting log 646 of 13 May or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Humberside Police sealed off a section of footpath labelled as a crime scene, with officers and debris being seen on the path.

A crime scene cordon was in place on a section of footpath on Bethlehem Street starting from outside Bacons Property Management shop to Canters Estate Agents.

Humberside Police released a statement regarding the assault:

“Police attended reports of an assault on Bethlehem Street last night (Friday, 13 May). A man was found unconscious on the road and taken to hospital with what is believed to be at this time life-threatening injuries.

“One man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody.
