Five days of fun as fair is set for Grimsby
A funfair is set to start in Grimsby today for five days.
The former Scartho Baths site on Scartho Road has been turned into a fun land with various rides and attractions.
Ashley Wood told said the funfair is aiming to build on the success it had last year.
The funfair is now making a temporary home on the site of the former bath. It will run for five days and nights starting at 5.30 pm on Wednesday.
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation trust posted:
“The fair has come to Grimsby- and we didn’t want to spoil anyone’s fun, so we have agreed to hand over the site of our free Scartho Baths car park until it’s finished.
“We’re expecting to have it back from Tuesday, May 7, at which point the free parking for staff and the public will resume.
The funfair toured up from Boston and will spend the next five days in town before moving on to Derbyshire.
Ashley said: “It went well here last year. Everyone enjoyed themselves and now the restrictions. due to the coronavirus, being lifted, everyone is feeling a lot more relaxed. People seem to be coming out more and enjoying the fresh air and the fun.”
He added: “We have run the funfair for many generations. I am from a five-generation show family as is Albert Evans.”
The rides include The Miami Swing, The Matterhorn Ride, The Tagada, cartoon buggies, and an inflatable assault course called the Big Tiger.
There is also a large inflatable slide and amusements for all ages.
The list includes bungee trampolines, a toy carousel, a hook-a-duck, and a penalty shoot stall.
There will also be traditional fairground food on sale, as well as hot and cold drinks.
