North East Lincolnshire election results

Last night the Conservative party retained a substantial win in the local elections but did lose a value seat to an unexpected contender.

Callum Proctor lost his Freshney ward seat to independent candidate Steve Holland, whose main goal will be to save the Freshney Valley.

All 15 wards were up for election last night as the polls opened at 7 am until 10 pm.

the first ballot boxes arrived at 10:10 pm as the verification process took place.

All the wads began their official count by midnight, with two recounts called for Freshney and Yarborough.

The Conservatives now have 30 council seats, as Labour and Lib Dem made no gains.

The results are as follows:

  • Frehney- Steve Holland, Independent
  • Scartho- Ron Sheppard, Conservative
  • Park Ward- Paul Silvester, Conservative
  • Croft Baker-  Oliver Freeston, Conservative
  • Humberston and New Waltham- Steve Harness, Conservative
  • Haverstoe – Margaret Cracknell, Conservative
  • Heneage Ward- Kevin Shutt
  • East Marsh- Steve Beasant, Lib Dem
  • Immimgham- Stewart Swinburn, Conservative
  • Scartho- Ron Shepard, Conservative
  • Sidney Sussex- Sophia Farren, Labour
  • South- Karen Batson, Conservative
  • Waltham- Nicholas Pettigrew, Conservative
  • West Marsh- Kathryn Wheatley, Labour
  • Wolds- David Hasthorpe, Conservative
  • Yarborough- James Cairns, Conservative

Speaking before the count Grimsby MP Lia Nici said: “Election night is always exciting and it’s a culmination of people being out and talking to members of the public and seeing what message they send us.

“Nationally we’ve got lots of challenges post-pandemic, cost of living but also local people want to see continuous change and see their council approve. These votes will allow us to see what message voters are sending us.”
