Overnight closures on the Humber Bridge

The Humber Bridge will close overnight next weekend for resurfacing works, the bridge board has confirmed.

From 6 pm on Saturday until mid-morning Sunday, the southbound carriageway will be closed and a contraflow system will be put in place.

Tag lanes will remain open to help keep traffic moving and motorists have been advised to allow extra time for their journey.

As resurfacing works depend on the weather there is a chance the work could be cancelled at short notice.

Any cancellation will be posted via social media.

The Humber Bridge Board said: “We will be doing some overnight resurfacing work on the southbound carriageway from 6 pm on Saturday, May 7th to mid-morning on Sunday.

“From Hessle Tower, the southbound carriageway will be closed and there will be a contraflow in place. The Tag lanes WILL remain open to help keep traffic moving.

“Please allow some extra time for your journey to minimise any potential disruptions. And please check the travel news or your travel app of choice before you set off.

“Resurfacing does depend on the weather, so there is a chance that the work is cancelled at short notice. If this happens, we’ll update everyone via social media.”
