Betting shop sealed off after incident
A cordon is currently in place outside of a betting shop following an incident.
The Betzone shop on the Willows Estate, Grimsby, has been sealed off following reports suggesting an ‘armed robbery’.
The emergency services remained on the scene as officers seemingly carried out inquiries.
According to reports, armed police were seen patrolling the area also, though it is not known if it is linked to the incident.
Detectives and officers were seen inside the premises as well as around the local area, it is understood the premises owners were also present.
A Police vehicle remains parked outside the rear of the shops, it is understood the incident has not affected businesses in the vicinity.
Humberside Police have been provided a statement.
“Officers are in attendance on Wingate Parade in Grimsby following reports of an armed robbery.
“A man was reported to have entered a betting shop on Wingate Parade and made threats using a large knife.
“Thankfully no one was injured in the incident and the offender left empty handed in the direction of the Willows.
“Officers remain in the area as we investigate the robbery and find those involved.
“Anyone with information that would help with our investigation can call our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 179 of 16 April 2022.”.
