North Lincolnshire ambulances bound for Ukraine
The first ambulances specifically made for Ukraine have now left North Lincolnshire to help aid those in need of medical attention in the war ravished country.
Built in Goole, the ambulances are custom made to withstand the war climate currently going on in Ukraine while still helping those most in need.
The ex-military vehicles have been outfitted as ambulances by Venari O&H on a not-for-profit basis.
The team secured millions of pounds in funding from donors, businesses, and others.
Andrew Percy, MP for Brigg and Goole said: “And they are off …
“The first of Goole’s ambulances for Ukraine are on their way to the country.
“I could not be prouder of Goole and the workers at O&H and others in their supply chain who have made this possible.
“In just a few weeks we have gone from a simple request asking if we could help get ambulances to securing the funding, getting the ex-military vehicles purchased, working on the prototypes for conversions, to getting them on the production line, sorting the export licences at pace and now getting them on their way to Ukraine.
“Fantastic work by all involved and especially the guys at Venari O&H in Goole. We have more ordered and lots of work is ongoing to secure more funding for even more.
“Sadly, as we saw this week with the Russian attack on vehicles evacuating patients from a hospital, these vehicles are much needed, especially the armoured ones which are in production too.”
Adding on how local residents can help the MP said: “As we are doing all of this work through the Ukraine Embassy, we ask therefore that anyone who does wants to support the project to donate via the Ukraine Embassy in the UK’s appeal fund whose funds have been used in part for this project too.
“Thank you to everyone who has asked how they can help or donate. Honestly, just knowing that we have the support of local people is enough, but for those who do want to donate, then the above fund is the best way.
Thanks to everyone for their interest and support.”
