From the BBC, according to reports, the long waits could continue for weeks.

Allegedly suspension of P&O ferry services and weather have affected travel too, causing more delays.

Airports have said they are struggling to meet recruitment demands, to cope with the growing traction.

This has led to staff shortages and delays.

Accordingly, also, they have been hit with Covid related staff absences.

Ken O’Toole, the deputy chief executive of Manchester Airports Group said this would be a “Difficult period”.

He has urged travellers to be prepared for long waits and to arrive three hours in advance.

” We want to protect the full flying schedule- We believe people would prefer to accept a queue and make sure they get away”.

According to reports, the boss of the airline’s watchdog has written to UK airlines expressing concern.

Richard Moriarty. chief executive of the Civil Aviation Authority called on airlines and airports to ensure disruption is “Kept to a minimum”.
