Northern Lincolnshire braces for more snow and hail

A yellow weather warning has been issued for the northern Lincolnshire area as of midnight today.

Hull and East Yorkshire are also to be hit by snow and hail this weekend.

There has been a sharp drop in temperature in contrast to the highs from the summery weekend in March.

There is a yellow warning for ice in place across the region.

The Met Office said: “Wintry showers will continue overnight Friday and into Saturday leading to icy patches, particularly on untreated surfaces.

“Some accumulations of snow are also possible, particularly across hillier areas of Northeast England”.

For Yorkshire & Humber areas, a chilly day with showers throughout the day, most prominent along the coast.

There is a possibility of snow and hail with a maximum temperature of 7 degrees.

In the evening showers will affect mainly coastal regions, with a risk of icy patches and a minimum temperature of -4 degrees.

For Saturday, there are reports of sunshine and scattered showers.

A maximum temperature of 8 degrees.

From Sunday to Tuesday, it is reported to be mostly dry with spells on Sunday.

There will be rain overnight and further rain into Tuesday, though it is suggested it will become milder.
