Air ambulance at Carr Lane following serious incident
An air ambulance has landed near Carr Lane, Grimsby and the road is blocked as emergency services attend to an incident in the area.
The helicopter is currently at the back of Carr Lane social club after witnesses saw police and paramedics heading to the scene.
The road has been closed off between Five Ways and Runswick Road while emergency services carry out their duties.
It has been reported that a car and a van collided, leading to traffic building up on both ends of the road while casulties are treated.
Screens were initially erected to protect those being treated for injuries and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Emergency services are currently in attendance at a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Carr Lane, Cleethorpes.
“It was reported that a car and a van were in collision shortly before 10.00am this morning (Thursday, March 3) between Runswick Road and Columbia Road. Two people have been taken to hospital for treatment on their injuries.
“The road remains closed between Fiveways and Runswick Road to allow emergency services to carry out their duties.
