Free parking to return for Small Business Saturday
On 4 December, free parking will return to car parks across Grimsby and Cleethorpes for Small Business Saturday.
The campaign aims to support, promote and inspire small businesses across the country.
Now in its ninth year, this national campaign has grown significantly, with a record £1.1 billion spent with small businesses on Small Business Saturday in 2020, and 15.4 million people choosing to shop small.
You too can make a difference to the local economy in North East Lincolnshire by shopping small, not just on Small Business Saturday but every day you can.
On the same day (4 December), Cleethorpes will be hosting a “Holly Jolly Cleethorpes Christmas Market” – a great opportunity to explore stalls from local artists and artisan makers, jewellery and vintage and local food and drink and enjoy the entertainment.
North East Lincolnshire Council is offering free parking in a number of its car parks across the area on Small Business Saturday (4 December). These car parks are:
- Cartergate, Grimsby

Cllr Callum Procter, Cabinet member for economic growth, said: “It’s really important that we support our small businesses – they are an essential part of our local economy, whether providing the supply chain elements for bigger businesses that have chosen to base themselves here, or our fantastic independent shops and retail outlets across the borough. We’re proud to support our small businesses and it’s great that we’re able to highlight the work they do.”
