Grimsby expect bumper crowd ahead of Yeovil clash
Grimsby Town fans look ahead to a winning return at home after three weeks away with over 6,700 tickets already sold for their clash against Yeovil Town.
The Mariners are in fine form, having won their last four games in all competitions, and fresh from a comfortable FA Cup win in front of the TV cameras at Bromsgrove Sporting, while their opponents scraped past Wealdstone on penalties in midweek.
A win for Grimsby will see them maintain their spot at the top of the table.
Yeovil, currently in 14th, will look for a win to keep their play-off hopes alive.
Paul Hurst will be hoping that his talisman John McAtee is fit for Saturday’s game after being ruled out in the last game with a knee injury.
Max Wright is expected to feature but a start is unlikely as he continues his recovery.
It also expected that Harry Clifton will start, having played in every game for the Mariners this season.
Yeovil have been struggling this season and are winless in their last five league games.
Any hopes of a repeat of their last home game 6-0 win is unlikely as Yeovil have one of the best defensive records in the league – only shipping 10 goals this season.
They have been struggling at the other end of the pitch, but Grimsby will need to be wary of Joe Quigley – Yeovil’s main attacking threat with six goals this season.
Grimsby fans have been regularly topping the attendance charts this season, with some of the highest home attendances seen in years at Blundell Park.
