Alexander Docks midnight rescue

Cleethorpes coast guards were made aware by CGOC Humber that a man had fallen into the water at Alexander Docks in Grimsby at 12:08am this morning (20 August).

Two of their team put on rescue gear ready to effect a rescue while RNLI Cleethorpes were also paged and launched to aid the rescue.

While on route they were made aware that Humber Fire and Rescue had also received the report and had successfully rescued the male from the water unharmed.

Thankfully, the male did not need medical assistance and was left in the custody of police as he helped them with inquiries.

In a new update, a witness to the rescue has stated that the male in question may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol prior to his fall.

According to her report, the man was also trying car doors to see if they were unlocked by the docks before he fell into the water and was subsequently rescued.

Two fire engines and three police cars were also reportedly seen at the docks.
