Weekend weather warning now extended into next week

The Met Office have announced a new weather warning is in place for Lincolnshire region for snow and ice.

With the warning in place from 3pm on Saturday, February 5, until just before midnight on Monday, February 7.

Lincolnshire already had a yellow weather warning for snow and ice, in place for Saturday and Sunday but it has been extended through until Monday now.

The Met Office headline accompanying the warning says: “Cold conditions will persist through the weekend and into the following week with some disruption from snow and ice possible.”

The warning has been issued for the entire East coast region.

There is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.

Other parts of Britain could see even worse conditions with amber warnings in place, as the country is set to face a monster snowstorm and blizzards.
