The platform, which is currently only available to those invited to a private beta program, announced on its site: “Bebo is coming back in February 2021 as a brand new social network.”
It’s been 16 years since the original website launched.
The site in particular gained mass popularity in Ireland and the UK, where it was the most visited social network in 2007.
Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok may be the most popular social media apps these days, but back in the early 2000s, Bebo was the go-to site for keen millennials.
What ‘skin’ will you be using?
If you had an account on the original Bebo, you may be dreading your old profile resurfacing..
Thankfully though, Bebo has confirmed that any old profiles have been deleted, including those cringe-worthy photos – yes you know the ones we mean!
There has been no information on what the new site will look like or whether it will include the classic features such as being able to rank your friends.
Many people took to Twitter joking about all the skins and wallpapers they are going to make for their profiles!
