Children’s mental health week 2021

Express Yourself

Children’s Mental Health Week is taking place on 1-9 February 2021 and this year’s theme is Express Yourself.

Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.

Place2Be is a children’s mental health charity that provides counselling and mental health support and training in UK schools, using tried and tested methods backed by research.

Place2Be launched the first ever Children’s Mental Health Week in 2015 to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health. Now in its seventh year, and this year they hope to encourage more people than ever to get involved and spread the word.

Everyone can get involved!

Free resources are available to children and young people to explore what it means to express yourself. All of the ideas can be adapted for use in school, for home-schooling, online lessons or independent learning.
