Firefighters tackle severe blaze at Indian restaurant in North Lincolnshire
Approximately 20 firefighters successfully tackled a “severe” blaze at an Indian restaurant in North Lincolnshire in the early hours of this morning.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the fire at The Curry Leaf on High Street in Epworth at about 12:50am on Tuesday.
A spokesman said a main gas pipe had ignited and the building was “well alight” by the time crews from Scunthorpe, Crowle and Epworth arrived.
Nobody was hurt and the fire was put out at approximately 05:00am.
A joint investigation with the police is due to start later.
Just after 1am, Humberside Police were were called by Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, regarding a fire at a premise on High Street.
The fire was extinguished and no persons were found inside.
Enquiries are currently ongoing into the circumstances around the fire.
