This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Southampton’s in-house Design and Print Centre. The Print Centre celebrated its 50 th anniversary last year and serves all internal departments as well as some high profile external organisations.

About the Role

The Print Centre offers a full range of services to its clients. Key services include: Litho Print, Digital Print, Large Format Print & Signage. This key role will primarily support Pre-press and Digital print department but will also provide cover in other areas of production where it is needed.

What you’ll do

  • Pre-flight and prepare customers artwork for production on the Print Centre’s various output devices.
  • Liaise with clients and amend artwork where needed.
  • Operate and maintain Digital Printing Presses and various finishing equipment.
  • Work with the Production Controller, planning work to achieve customer deadlines.
  • Assist other teams in the Design and Print Centre as necessary to maintain the flow of production.

What you’ll bring

  • A passion for print.
  • A keen eye and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of working in a busy high-pressure print department
  • Extensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, Pitstop Pro and software associated with Printing equipment.
  • Knowledge of different printing processes and strong problem-solving abilities.
