Our client, a full service London Law firm is looking to hire an experienced Risk and Compliance Professional to develop their Risk and compliance programme.

This is a new role within the firms’ structure and will be managing a small team.
Role Purpose: To promote a high level of compliance with external regulatory and internal requirements and ensure best practice is observed and raise awareness of all compliance related matters.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain a Risk & Compliance framework, aligned with best practice.
Undertake Risk Assessments to identify scope and level of risk.
Advise and support COLP and COFA in all Risk and Compliance matters and make recommendations for improvements to manage risk.
Investigate breaches and potential breaches of regulations.
Manage procedure for recording breaches and reporting material breaches to SRA or other relevant body within appropriate timescales.
Recommend corrective actions for potential issues and risk mitigation where appropriate.
Make recommendations for improving quality standards in practice management.
Ensure firm is compliant with AML policy and procedures.
Be the main point of contact for Subject Access Requests and data protection matters.
Gather information in response to regulatory requests.
Own all Risk processes and review other firm processes to ensure Risk & Compliance is built in.
Ensure all Risk and Compliance policies are up to date.
Ensure all Risk and Compliance training is completed.
Uphold the firms policies and procedures, e.g., Cyber Security, Health and Safety.
Keep knowledge of appropriate regulations up to date.
Complete other reasonable tasks as requested.
Required Experience: Good knowledge of SRA Handbook, conflicts of interest, data protection and AML legislation.
The ability to assess commercial and legal risks.
Building and maintaining relationships across the firm.
Experience dealing with senior stakeholders.
Experience of working for preferably another Law firm or alternatively a regulated professional services firm.
