Hampton’s Specialist Children’s Division are working with one of the UK’s most unique and well-respected Children’s Care and Education providers to help them recruit a Head Teacher for one of their schools in Welshpool

The school is one of a handful of specialist services in the UK who provide therapeutic care and education for boys and young men aged 11-18 who have displayed harmful sexual behaviour (HSB).

Job Purpose

To ensure the educational needs of all young people in the school are met by providing a consistent and efficient service congruent with the organisation’s aim, objectives, and philosophy. Formally we operate Therapeutic Communities (TC) as an evidence-based intervention approach for our young people. All staff are employed in the TC first and foremost and then have a secondary and specific technical contribution based on their professional training.

This role has an operational lead responsibility for the school, contribute to strategic thinking and is required to role model integrated and reflected working.

**This role would suit an  experienced Deputy Head who is looking for their first Headship in a small, dynamic, forward thinking school who champion the needs of Looked After Children**

Education and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher status
  • 2 years senior leadership experience in a school
  • Proven track record of effective multi-disciplinary working
  • First Degree or equivalent
  • Evidence of CPD (Continued Professional Development
  • Designated Safeguarding Officer experience.
