Please note this is a 3 year scheme.
Our vision in Finance is to operate as one integrated team, which strives to deliver a consistent application of best practice, financial controls and processes, through which we will look to challenge all areas of the business, enhance shareholder value, protect the assets of MBDA and ensure we comply with all national and shareholder requirements.
What’s the opportunity
In support of this vision, as a Finance Graduate, you will work in three annual placements within the function, gaining knowledge and experience in the various areas of Finance, working with colleagues across the business (nationally and internationally).
Alongside your role, you will study for the CIMA Professional Qualification, fully funded by the company. You will receive additional leave for study and exams, as well as other training courses on offer providing learning opportunities for soft skills and deeper understanding of the organisation to support you in your career development. You will have support from your technical coordinator and fellow finance graduates, and be assigned a buddy and a mentor, who will all ensure you are getting the most from the programme.
At the end of the three years, you will have achieved the ultimate goal of becoming a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) through the Accountancy Professional Level 7 Apprenticeship, along with breadth of experience within the company, including reporting, budget and business plan preparation, and financial management of contracts.
Working in the Finance function provides the opportunity to develop as a business partner, supporting the business in value creation, sharing of best practice, and delivering as one team across cultures and national boundaries.
What’s in it for you
You’ll no doubt have seen all the information on our website about our comprehensive and customisable benefits package.
What are we looking for
As a minimum requirement you will have obtained, or predicted to achieve, a 2:2 in your Bachelors or Master’s degree. You do not need to have studied Accounting, Finance or Business as all degree types are considered, but it is beneficial that you have a general interest in Finance as a function, due to the numerical nature of the work. A lot of your work will require use of Microsoft Excel, and SAP R3 and Business Warehouse.
MBDA is committed to providing an inclusive working environment where our employees can be themselves and everyone has equal opportunity to reach their full potential. We value difference and know that a diverse community makes for greater innovation and brings a breadth of skills, experience and perspectives.
All graduates, undergraduates and apprentices at MBDA are required to achieve the appropriate clearance relevant to their respective role. Some roles, may be reserved for UK nationals and certain categories of information may be restricted to UK nationals also. To gain suitable clearance individuals will need to have lived in the UK for up to 5 years dependent on the level of clearance required.
